Reliance Jio made several records not only in India but across the globe and Jio made 130 million customers in one year of its operations, Reliance industries chairman said in his letter to employees that In this past one year we have made several records.
On 5th Sep 2016, Reliance Jio launched its mobile service with the plan of unlimited free 4G data along with Free unlimited voice calling and free access in roaming. That time only Jio was started making customers and now it has 130 million customers.
Let’s talk about overall telecom customers in numbers before launching Jio. So, India’s telecom subscriber base crossed 1.1 billion in October, After launching Jio there there approx 29 million new customers added in just one month.
Now let’s focus on TRAI data, Reliance Jio had 123.36 million customers at the end of June. Before launching Jio in India mobile data consumption was 20 crore GB per month but after launching Jio it’s went to over 150 crore GB per month, which means that Jio customers alone are consuming 125 crore GB per month. Because of Jio service now India has moved from 155 to number 1 in the world in mobile data consumption. Jio has become world’s first biggest telecom network who has 130 million subscribes. Earlier users had to pay Rs. 250 for 1GB mobile data but after Jio it’s become Rs. 10 for 1GB mobile data. In India Jio come with 4G Volte services.
